Norfolk County Council
NCC is responsible for a wide range of local services including: Education, Social Services, Highways & Transportation, Waste Disposal, Libraries & Museums, Fire Service, Trading Standards.
Denton used to be one of 24 parishes that made up the Clavering County Division, one of 84 covering the county.
Clavering comprised parts of four SNDC wards and stretches from Wortwell in the West to the shores of Breydon Water in Haddiscoe to the East.
The next county council elections were due to be held in May 2025 on new division boundaries but were postponed.
On May 7th 2026 elections for the County Council were held on the new division boundaries.
Denton became part of the new Waveney Valley Division; confusingly this has the same name as that used for the new Parliamentary Constituency covering Denton, used for the first time at the 2024 General Election.
Covering 23 parishes, the boundaries are similar to Clavering with some adjutments round the northern edges.
