Denton Parish Council
Minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Council held on Tuesday 10th May 2016 at Denton Village Hall.
Present: Peter Hill (Chairman), Terry Hanner (Vice Chairman), Roger Gibson, Kay Wiltshire, Zoe Brown, Kerry Norfolk and Bernice Higgins (Clerk).
Also Present: Murray Gray (District Councillor).
1. Apologies
Peter Grant.
2. Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman.
The Chairman called for nominations for the position of Chairman. Peter Hill was proposed by Terry Hanner and seconded by Roger Gibson and unanimously agreed.
Appointment of vice chair was deferred.
3. Minutes of the last Annual Meeting 12th May 2015.
The minutes were proposed as a true record by Peter Hill, seconded by Kerry Norfolk, unanimously agreed. The minutes were signed and dated.
4. Representatives.
It was proposed that Roger Gibson remain financial supervisor. Proposed by Peter Hill, seconded by Terry Hanner, unanimously agreed.
Possible future positions to be discussed when roles become needed.
5. Approval of Accounts for the year ending March 2016.
The Clerk had circulated a set of accounts. The year-end accounts had been checked by Roger Gibson. The accounts were approved. Proposed by Peter Hill, seconded by Kerry Norfolk, unanimously agreed.
It was agreed to ask Liz Frere-Smith to audit the books.
6. Review.
a) Handling of correspondence – No change.
b) Accounts summary – No change.
c) Dates and times of meetings – No change, to remain the second Tuesday of every month.
d) Length of meetings - – No change, to finish meeting with in 1 ½ hours maximum 2 hours.
e) Procedures at meetings – No change.
f) Standing orders – No change, Zoe Brown proposed. Seconded by Roger Gibson, unanimously agreed.
7. Any Other Business.
Terry Hanner proposed a vote of thanks to Peter Hill as Chairman, Unanimously agreed.
The meeting closed at 8.25pm
