Minutes of the Meeting Held on Tuesday 9th June 2015

at 8pm at Denton Village Hall

Present: Terry Hanner (Vice Chairman), Zoe Brown, Roger Gibson, Kerry Norfolk, Pauline Sandell (Clerk).
Also Present: One member of the public.

1. Apologies.
Peter Hill, Murray Gray.

2. Declaration of Interest.
None.

3. Minutes of the Last Meeting.
The minutes were signed and dated.

4. District Matters and County Council Matters.
No reports.

5. Questions from the Public.
The path down The Walk is difficult to walk as tractors have created large holes and the holes are getting deeper. It is the responsibility of the landowner to keep the path in good repair. Terry Hanner will speak to the owner.

6. Future Programmes.
Nothing to report.

7. Matters Arising:
a) Ditch at Skinners’ Meadow; Nothing further to report.
b) Any Other Matter Arising; Pot holes – Terry Hanner has been in touch with Highways and some have been done. The one at Trunch House has not been done. Terry will chase Highways again.

8. Playing Field Inspection.
a) Monthly inspection; Peter Hill had done the last inspection but he was not present at the meeting. Roger Gibson to do the next report.
b) Norse; The Clerk had spoken to Norse and as a consequence the grass was cut on 2nd June. However, it was agreed that the payment of the invoice would be withheld until this issue is resolved. The Clerk to write to Norse to inform them of this decision.

9. Co-option of Two More Councillors.
Two people have shown an interest.

10. Annual Parish Meeting Review.
a) Defibrillator – The general consensus at the Parish Meeting was that the defibrillator should be bought, but purely for use in the Village Hall. Proposal to purchase the defibrillator proposed by Kerry Norfolk, seconded by Zoe Brown, unanimously agreed.
b) First Aid Course – Terry Hanner to speak to Annie to see what progress has been made.
c) Village Hall Extension – Next month’s agenda.
d) Village Seat – It was decided to leave this for the moment.
e) Playground Equipment for Younger Children - Zoe Brown to do some research on roundabouts within a budget of £1000.
f) Footpath Across Fields to School - Not high priority at the moment.

11. Recipients of Welcome Letter.
Nothing to report.

12. Planning Applications.
None.

13. Correspondence
Highway Rangers will be visiting Denton shortly. The Clerk will ask them to strim footpath at Pocket Park.

14. Finance
a) Accounts Summary.
b) Approve Accounting Statement and Complete Annual Governance Statement for External Audit.
c) Pay the Clerk £90.29 for June.
d) Invoice from Norse £552.98 for six months grounds maintenance.
The Annual Governance was completed and signed by Terry Hanner. It was agreed to pay the Clerk, proposed by Roger Gibson, seconded by Zoe Brown, unanimously agreed.
Re (d) As discussed earlier it was agreed to withhold payment of the invoice from Norse.
