Gentlemen's Class 2025
Marmalade Cake
Ingredients
- 165g Self Raising Flour
- 165g Soft margarine
- 165g Caster Suga
- 4 level tablespoons of Chunky Orange Marmalade
- 3 eggs beaten
- 1 tablespoon of boiling water
- Icing sugar and marmalade for glazing
Method
- Grease and line a 7” round cake tin
- Pre-heat the oven to 180C /Fan 160C / Gas mark 4
- Put all the cake ingredients into a large mixing bowl
- Beat together using an electric mixer or wooden spoon until well-combined. Do not over mix
- Spread the cake mix evenly in the lined tin
- Cook in the middle of the oven for approx. 45 mins until the cake springs back when lightly touched
- Leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before gently turning out of the tin on to a cooling rack
- When cold spread with marmalade and drizzle with an icing glaze
