Boules Report
Posted
Sunday August 30th saw the annual Blackhand Cyder Boules Competition at Mill Farm.
50 members and guests assembled and 12 teams of 3 took part in the draw. The play was competitive with the tape measure brought into use on several occasions but the atmosphere was of course one of friendly competition – helped in part by some of the now very drinkable Blackhand Cyder.
The Winners of the Main Competition were The Ogees (Peter, Denise and Caroline) who beat The Misfits (Lana, Darryl and Lorraine) in the Final.
The Plate Competition ( for teams who lost in the first round) was won by The Millers (Yan, Denise and David) who beat Rag Tag and Bobtail (Steve, Oliver and Phil) in the Final.
We were sorry to be missing our travelling contingent from Kent due to a clash with a wedding (a poor excuse) but I am sure they will be back soon.
The weather was kind, the company excellent, and everyone grazed on a sumptuous collection of bring and share food. It was a lovely way to spend a late summer’s afternoon.
Thanks to Adele and David for providing this report and for hosting the event so well.
