Well Done Betty

Congratulations must go to Betty Wilby for organising a great fund-raising Afternoon Tea Party on Sunday.

Held at the Village Hall in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Week it provided wonderful food and excellent entertainment for the attendees.

So far it has raised over £1,500 for the "Breast Cancer Now" charity. Further donations are welcome.
The easiest way is via the JustGiving Website.

They've Done It Again

Yes they have!

Back on June 29th we reported on our Emily Winter winning the Best Woman in Agriculture award at the Royal Norfolk Show. That day the EDP published a picture of Emily with Martha Meek the Director of the Waveney River Trust, where Emily is an active volunteer.

They have re-used that same picture in today's paper, but, for the second time running, the caption with the picture is wrong. It claims Emily is on the left while she is actually on the right!

To get this wrong once is perhaps excusable, but twice is surely unforgiveable?

Food Waste Collection

UPDATE
The dates for the extension of the Scheme to cover Denton have changed. Full details will be circulated soon.

South Norfolk Council have announced details of their new Food Waste Collection Service.

The first collection in Denton will be on Friday 2nd October.

As described in the August edition of the Parish News and on the SNC Website, 1 - 3 weeks before that date they will deliver a Kitchen Caddy with liners and an Outdoor Bin to every household. When the former is full its contents should be placed in the Bin which then put out for collection on the appointed day.

Details of what can be placed in the Bin are in the Magazine and on the Council's Website.
