A Great Supper

Another wonderful Village Supper was enjoyed by everyone at the Village Hall last night.

The food was excellent, three great courses and then cheese. And all for £15. Well done Betty and her helpers. As usual, the Bar did a roaring trade.

Later on, the Raffle kept us all on tenterhooks. However, one incident should be recorded. Returning to the table with his chocolates prize, one winner commented “It was the Maltesers or a very basic bottle of Rose”. A person sitting nearby responded with “Do you mind, I brought one of those bottles!”.

Fireworks in Denton

Last night’s Fireworks Night at the Village Hall went off with a bang.

A big crowd attended and enjoyed a great display. Congratulations must go to the team that organised it so well.

A new, and much safer, system was used this year. Attendees were asked to refrain from bringing their own fireworks and the Hall paid for the display. Hopefully the cost will be covered by the collection made on the night.

Needless to say, the hot dogs were great and the bar well-used.

Halloween Success

Last Friday’s Halloween Party was hugely successful. 60 children, and some adults, had great fun playing games, dancing and of course pumpkin carving.

The Coffee Morning Team provided hot food for everyone, the hot dogs went down a storm. Many thanks to all those who worked so hard to make the event a success.

A grand total of £401 was raised for Village Hall funds.
