Compost Future in Doubt
Posted
Doubts have been raised about the future of Denton's award-winning Community Composting Scheme. A public meeting to discuss future plans is to be held - probably early in February.
The scheme has been running, very successfully since 2003. It has provided a valuable service, particularly for the elderly and those with smaller gardens, and raised significant funds for the village. However, the organisers would like to hand over the reins to a new team. There are normally enough people to perform the weekly tasks of collecting and processing the compostable material but it is hoped that a couple of volunteers will be found to do the critical central organising.
Details of the public meeting will appear on the website as soon as they are known.
