Denton a village in South Norfolk, England

Florence Andrews (neĆ© Frost) 1938 – 2014

From the Parish News – December 2014

Roger and Clare would like to express their thanks to each and every one of you who sent their kind wishes, cards, thoughts and popped in for a visit. Florence would have been so very pleased to see the pile of cards offering support to her family. She would have also been so proud to see the full church at Woodton when we celebrated her life with Thanksgiving. We do not have the final figure as to how much was raised for the Big C and All Hallows Home Care yet as donations are still coming in, but would like to thank all those who gave so generously.

Florence moved to Denton from Walthamstow with her mother, father and sister in December 1949 when Florence was 11 years old. She always remembered how some of her friends at Denton School thought she was posh because of her London accent! During the family's time in Denton they lived at Chapel Hill Farm, Trunch Hill and Little Green Farm.

Florence was a very keen member of the WI for many years until her illness stopped her attending - she was part of many events put on by the WI and would talk so proudly of the modern day attitude that the WI in Denton had.

She spent many happy evenings in Denton with so many people she called her friends after she had moved from the village in 1968, continuing until 2013 when her illness prevented her from continuing this. She also loved the Gardening Club, being very proud to win the first raffle prize when the Gardening Club opened for its first meeting; it still grows in the garden today! It was a big miss for her not to be able to go out to the place she thought so fondly of, but we hope you all have so many lovely memories of your times with Florence.
