VE Day Celebrated
May 8th was the National Day to celebrate the end of the War in Europe.
Denton joined in with a special event at the Village Hall. This included speeches from two of the village’s oldest residents in which they described their memories of the war.
As usual in Denton excellent food and drink was available but the people who made the biggest sacrifice during the war were remembered, with the lighting of the Beacon and the singing of “I Vow to Thee my Country”.
