The Year of the Virus - Mark II
At the start of the year everyone hoped that the end of the Covid Emergency might be in sight, but, all too soon, a new, Delta, variant appeared and more restictions were imposed.
Eventually these were relaxed to some extent and some community activities including the WI, the Art Group, the Gardening Club and even Black Hand Cyder were able to resume. Friday Bar nights at the Village Hall returned.
However the appearance of the new Omicron variant in the autumn caused considerable alarm and, despite booster jabs re-inforcing earlier vaccinations, further restrictions returned.
Thus, while a, restricted, version of the usual Christmas Eve celebrations was possible, the planned New Year's Eve Party had to be cancelled.
