Denton a village in South Norfolk, England

Pictures from the Past

This article is part of the History Section of the Village Website so it is entirely appropriate to include a reference to an event in 2017 that provided so much information about the recent history of the village.

Over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd April an Exhibition of Photographs of Denton was organised at the Village Hall. More than a thousand photos were on display covering every aspect of village life. They included pictures of houses and people, former and current. It was claimed that very few people who had lived in the village during the last 50+ years were not included.

All the village organisations from the Art Group to the WI were covered and there were lots of interesting documents on display as well.

Needless to say, the Hall was filled with local residents trying to find pictures of themselves from times past; great fun for all.

A large number of people provided the material on display but special thanks must go to the key organisers: the Hanner and Godsmark families.
