The Bowls Club Reborn
After a long break Carpet Bowls has returned to the Village Hall once again.
Following a long break the village indoor bowls club was re-launched in October. The original Bowls Club was formed back in the 1980s and a Denton team played in the local leagues. Then around the millenium, following some deaths and retirements, actual bowling ceased but the "Bowls and Social Club" continued as holders of the licence for the Village Hall bar.
A small group of enthusiastic bowlers have rescued the "equipment", the mats, bowls etc., from its long hibernation - some of the players were hardly out of nappies when it was last used.
It is doubtful that a full team will be formed to compete against other clubs but regular informal sessions on Monday evenings are planned.
