5. Chairman's Report
Summary of the year –
Events - TH reported that the village hall had a good year, which started off with the Bonfire night which provided a good profit. This was followed by the New Year’s Eve party provided by PW and Megan and Ricky Edwards. The new year saw the return of Peter and Denises quiz and March saw a record entry at table tennis hosted by Steve and Annie Whiteman. TH noted there was 2 beetle drives (March and October) which saw record attendance. We also saw the return of HSP Beer, Band and BBQ with one event during the summer and another planned for November. TH also noted that he had resurrected the Whist Drives whilst having a relatively low turnout still went well. The highlight of the year was the 100-year celebration in the hall with a village lunch which was a lovely day enjoyed by all.
Work - TH noted that the bar area has been opened into the pool room which has worked well. This has also been supported by the purchase of new tables, chairs and carpets in this area.
Thanks – TH offered thanks to lots of different volunteers who have supported the hall in the last year.
Thanks to David Lambert, PW and LH for their work on opening the bar/pool room.

6. Treasurer's Updates
Income – DG shared copies of the latest accounts with the group.
He highlighted in the last year the hall has had a £2000 donation from the DVC, which he noted was 2 donations of £500 for room hire and £1000 towards the purchase of lights.
Also noted DVH £2000 donation, 2 years £500 for hall and £1000 towards light and ten £500 towards 2023,
£100 received from Octopus from a refer a friend’s scheme – HSP donated the £100 she received from refereeing the hall to Octopus.
Payments -
Electricity – looks like we are paying more but DG noted we had to pay some up front to octopus which was c£700 which is returnable at end of contract. If take this off, we have paid less this year.
Insurance gone up by 10% but considering current market conditions we are happy with that.
Electrics –DG noted we have spent a lot externally on lighting which is shown in accounts.
Overall, we spent more than we brought in but there was significant investment in bar area so comfortable with that. DG noted that the current bank account has £2285.76 and total reserves of £9437.84. DG noted there is discrepancies in the accounts shared (under £1) but would amend and share.
TH thanks to DG for all his work in completing these.
7. Bar and Social Club
Noted there is c£18k in the bank. A full update to be provided by the new treasurer for the bar and social club Neil Batchelor.
