Some basic information about the village of Denton, Norfolk.
- The village lies on the southern edge of the county of Norfolk in the South Norfolk District Council area.
- It is roughly fifteen miles south of Norwich and four miles from the nearest towns, Bungay and Harleston.
- One of 120 parishes in the district (and more than 700 in the county), it shares boundaries with:
Alburgh,
Bedingham,
Earsham,
Hempnall and
Topcroft in Norfolk plus
Flixton and
Homersfield across the River Waveney in Suffolk.

- Population - 2001 Census - 352 people, living in 162 dwellings. The results of the latest census, held on 27/03/11, are due to be announced mid-2012.
- Electorate - At the start of the new, 2011/12, electoral year in December, the civil parish had 303 voters, living in 163 dwellings, on its electoral register. With the rolling register system this will change during the year.
On the day of the last General Election, on May 6th 2010, the register included 315 voters, 33 of whom had elected to vote by post. Total turnout was 78.8%, significantly higher than the average across the constituency of 70% and the national average of 65%.
At the last District Council Election, on May 5th 2011, the turn-out in Denton was 53.1%; again significantly higher that the district-wide figure of 43.1%. - Area - 1,011 hectares, 2,498 acres.
- Highest point (ground level) - 52.6 metres above mean sea level, the Trig Point on the parish boundary north of Darrow Green.
- Lowest point - the river Waveney at the most south-easterly point on the parish boundary , normally approximately 15 metres above mean sea level.
